The gameplay features section gives you an overview of how you navigate your player through the virtual world, from sideline to stadium. Each article gives an insight into how the design team have structured your football world.

Feature 8: Football Superstars Clubs

We previously covered the exciting possibilities of Player Managed Clubs and how they allow you and your friends to create your own team, design your teams kit and relax in your own club house before dominating other PMC’s in seasonal challenges. But how will you forge these relationships and acquire the finances to run your own club ?

The two initial towns of Football Superstars are the home to 14 teams, each with their own grounds including club bar, gym training centre and more. With a rich history, these teams compete against each other in a 4 week season, challenging for league domination.

As a new participant to the Football Superstars World you will be asked to choose any one of these teams to represent, beginning life in the 4th division.

Playing for your team is easy. Bring up the match finder, choose your game criteria and the game system will match you with other similarly skilled players within your team before fetching an equally skilled team from one of the 13 opposition. Some pre-match chat in the changing rooms allows you to refine your tactics and select the skills and talents you will take with you on the pitch. Then it’s out into the tunnel and the roar of the crowd…

Play well and you will soon be promoted into the next division, finding tougher competition but much higher rewards. With better pay comes greater fame and celebrity status allowing you to enjoy the finer trappings of your new found success.

Advancing through the divisions also allows you to unlock greater opportunities for match play. Beginning with 3 and 5-a-side matches, understanding the control system and forging relationships will be your initial priority. Promotion means greater responsibility within your club and the first chance to experience 7-a-side matches where the relationships you have made with your fellow team mates will determine your success in games where positional play becomes critically important.

By the time you are participating in full 11-a-side games, you will be playing in some of the most truly awe inspiring stadiums the virtual world has ever seen. Here, hundreds of thousands will come to watch YOU play, and only then will you understand exactly what is required to be a successful member of a professional squad.

Each of the 14 teams will have its own club website with their own bespoke history, features, forums and much more, giving you an online home whenever you are unable to immerse yourself in the Football Superstars world. We will be running competitions, focusing on star players and giving you many more ways to get involved.
